World View of Bonsai 2005
The World View of Bonsai is a gallery of trees from around the world. It is an ongoing project, bringing a new sequel every year. These trees represent the latest works of talented artists. Beyond the enjoyment of looking at these beautiful trees, the viewer will have a glimpse at the fascinating diversity of species used around the world. The gallery will also serve as a witness to various forms and styles, as well as introducing to the viewer the latest innovations in the art form.
We would like to place the emphasis on the contemporary aspect of the art of bonsai. There are great masterpieces from the past, teaching and inspiring us every day. But we believe that bonsai, like any other art form, is evolving. We would like to capture this subtle evolution throughout the sequels of this gallery.
History can only be accurately assessed in hindsight. To have this hindsight, we will need many years' worth of sequels.
We are deeply thankful to the artists who so generously offered their trees for our viewing pleasure. And hope that from time to time, they will surprise us with their latest masterpieces for further inclusion in this gallery.
