Judge Comments:

NL - "A very motionfull and well balanced bonsai – and it puts out gaudy blossoms. The container is a bit weak looking."

Judge Comments:
DB - "Bizarre nebari (but interesting!) • nice pot but wrong choice for this tree ( a glazed pot would be better,; possibly a smoky grey)"
NL - "Amusing and delightful – reminds me of an obese space alien from a FAR SIDE album. The pot, both in shape and color, complete the composition."
MP - "This should not be in the competition. The tree lacks form. I am quite familiar with what can be done with Silverberry, and this is a poor example"

Judge Comments:
DB - "A very elegant group • fabulous choice of pot and colour • trunks well positioned and fruit a delight"
NL - "A charming grove of difficult-to-work-with cotoneasters that is somewhat off balance. The brightness of the container dominates the entire visual image"

Judge Comments:
DB - "Beautiful arrangement and well placed trunks • pot is a good shape and size but miserable colour!! • not much evidence of flowers"
NL - "A beautifully designed and naturalistic looking “Demon’s Leap” planting. I admire the way all the trees work together in leading the eye up to the edge. The rock and trees are beautifully grounded in a sliver of a container."
MP - "Haunting and powerful!"

Judge Comments:
DB - "Charming flowers but poor nebari and poor choice of pot… should be glazed (possibly cream or pale grey)"
NL - "While the foliage canopy shape and motion of the bonsai are good, the branching structure is awkward and the base of the tree weak. The container is too much of a bathtub for the motion of the composition."

Judge Comments:
DB - "Sweet little tree with a powerful trunk but overall shape of foliage needs improving • sweet display stand"
NL - "The shape and color of the pot, the shape and color of the trunk, and the deep red flowers combine to make this a very dramatic and satisfying shohin."
MP - "This looks like a bush."

Judge Comments:
DB - "Interesting species • good buttress at base of trunk • interesting pot but too big for tree • Foliage pads too flat"
NL - "Good try, but the tree is awkwardly and inadequately articulated. The pot is a bit hokey for the simplicity of the composition."
MP - "Unexceptional form. lacking dimension"

Judge Comments:
DB - "Good nebari • bottom left branch too stiff • poor distribution of flowers • nice moss surface dressing "
NL - "Nice pot, nice tree base, interesting main trunk motion and detail, and then comes the awkwardness of the branching."
MP - "This tree reflect little work, in my opinion. The mid section of the tree lacks branch structure, and the lower branches need refinement."

Judge Comments:
DB - "A gorgeous display of flowers • nicely styled and well balanced tree • nice pot but marginally over-sized"
NL - "I can not imagine what the tree has for a branching structure, but the impact of the composition is dramatic and pleasing. The trunk has great interest and slides nicely into a container of perfect size and color."
MP - "I question the design strategy. The primary branch running down the trunk is exaggerated and might have been better placed on the opposite side of the tree."

Judge Comments:
DB - "Charming tree with delightful flowers and fruit • perfect choice of pot •good surface treatment • foliage a little too slanting"
NL - "An engaging tree of precious balance like that of a ballet dancer – the motion is great. I like the strong pot for this, especially the orange that mimics the color of the fruit It reminds me of a surprise you might spy in a back-ally Parisian Boutique."

Apparently, this is quite a question: you may want to take a look on this other thread.
