The Art of Bonsai Project always welcomes new articles and encourages its members and the public to submit their articles and essays.

To submit your article just email the article to us at [email protected] . Please include the title and any photographs you may wish to include in the article. You may also include any other information that you feel is pertinent.

AoB accepts articles relating to the artistic aspects of Bonsai, Penjing, Accents, Kusamono, Pottery, Stands, Shows, Exhibitions, and other related subjects. Please see our current article base as an example.

Whilst a mastery of the horticultural aspects of bonsai is indispensible for the successful practice of the art of bonsai, we do not intend this forum as a venue for discussing bonsai horticulture. Several internet forums already serve this function, and we encourage members and guests to participate in those forums and to direct their horticultural concerns to those places. Please limit your article submissions to those concerning the artistic aspects of bonsai and related subjects.

Articles should be well written, utilising proper spelling and grammar. Either International English or American English spelling conventions may be used when posting or submitting content such as articles, galleries, and reviews. However, we do ask that you stick to one form or the other and do not mix spelling conventions.

If your article contains photographs we recommend submitting full size photographs, unsized and at 300 dpi resolution. Using these standards will ensure that your photograph is acceptable and customizable for our use.

All photographs submitted should exhibit technical competence: they should be in focus, properly exposed, and they should use the best backdrop possible under the circumstances. Photographs, if they need to be edited, should be edited properly in a photo-editing program. In particular, images should be cropped and corrected if necessary for exposure and rotation.

Copyright Warning:
Do not post text or images to which you do not have the copyright.
For original text and images, the copyright for content posted to the Art of Bonsai remains with the author, though we do request non-exclusive permission to use your contributions in future articles, collections, retrospectives, etc.

Contact Carl Bergstrom at [email protected] if you have questions or concerns about this policy.
