This is a Juniper that was started as a cutting by a friend of min in about 1983. After 2 years all the cuttings were planted in the ground and left to grow.In 2001 I lifted this one without digging, it just didn't have many roots because it was growing in a wet area.
I did the initial styling a year later and later at a club workshop Roy Nagatoshi did some refinement.
I placed the tree in this pot by Iker bonsai pots last fall. I like the pot and color but I feel it is too deep. Any comments?

I believe your are right the pot is a bit too heavy. I think the overall image could be improved by using a visually lighter thiner pot with a dark natural color and rough texture. It is a fine tree. A little refinement with some wiring to move your elements in the proper location will really bring out its beauty.
